Designed
during a 10-day charrette, this ULI competition entry looks at how urban
planning can reconnect parts of a city that were once divided by industrial
railway. St. Louis is proposing a green belt that will revitalize the
city, and this design focuses on how a shift in scale can allow transportation
of all kinds to happen here without creating an environment untenable
to pedestrians.
Multi-use
buildings encourage people to live where they work, requiring less travel
by car.
